The Lewis model is a culture video below shows what it is about. Below we will discuss the differences between South Africa and The Netherlands according to Lewis.

The video already explained in what categories Lewis made distinction. But what contain these categories? This pictures shows some characteristics from each category.

As the Video already show, South Africa is marked pink. So it is a predominantly multi active culture with some tendency towards linear active. So South Africa's culture is emotional, loquacious and impulsive people who attach great importance to family, feelings, relationships, people in general. They like to do many things at the same time and are poor followers of agendas. But they tent to the linear culture, like The Netherlands what is a culture with re task-oriented, highly-organized planners, who complete action chains by doing one thing at ta time, preferably in accordance with a linear agenda.

For a good cooperation between South Africa and The Netherlands it is important that they both aware of some differences. To deal with a Linear Active culture like The Netherlands it is important to organise, plan, see problems, analyse consequences, follow consistent policies, access rational thought, generate data and challenge them objectively.

To deal with a more Multi-Active cultures like South Africa it is important to generate enthusiasm, motivate, persuade, create a positive social atmosphere, access emotions, generate dialogue and challenge them personally.
