The last half year I lived in Cape Town, South Africa. I started in August with my Internship at a Marketing Communication bureau. But I only worked one month over there, the last five months I did my internship at an International Marketing Company.

What I mentioned when I lived in Cape Town was that the people where very kind. But you have to be patience. They will take their time to fix something, and rather do something tomorrow than today. Something to keep in mind.

The most South Africans look a bit shy at the first sight, but give them some time. When you know them better they aren’t shy at all. Try to adapt and be interested in their culture, they like it when you ask them things about their hobbies or stuff they do in their spare time.

Do's:

When you are in South Africa make sure you visit the beautiful wine estates, and go out for several wine tastings. The wines they produce in South Africa are one of worlds greatest!

Better not walk at night time on the streets and never alone! Don't trust people who want to help you at an ATM and watch your stuff every second. There are a lot of pickpockets on the streets in Cape Town. So be careful!

Go to mezolli's, it is a 'braai' (BBQ) party in a township near by Cape Town. On this way it's a perfect opportunity to get an inside in the South African culture and it is a very cool party. The local people also thinks it is a nice way to connect with the tourists and expats.

Go for a hike, South Africa's nature is so gorgeous and it is definitely word it to discover! Take one of the cool hiking trails and enjoy the peaceful views.

Get down in the see and ride the waves. If you are a beginner go with the flow in Muizenberg, but if you already are a real surfdude catch some waves in Kommetjie or George bay.

Make sure you enjoy the great restaurants and cocktail bars, because there a lot of them, and you will love it!
